Running a scan
1
Make sure you're connected with the engine OFF (KOEO).
2
Click Quick Scan to read all modules and their faults.
3
Use Deep Scan / Find Unknown Modules for a more thorough sweep (also engine-off only).
Engine must be off
Scanning while the engine runs can miss modules and stored faults, so these scans are blocked unless the ignition is on with the engine off.
Reading the results
Each module's faults are grouped into three color-coded statuses:
- Active Problem (red) — happening now.
- Not Active (yellow) — stored, not currently present.
- Inner Module Communication (gray) — internal/communication events.
Each fault shows what it means, what you might notice, and a recommended next step. Full explanation: Fault Statuses.
Clearing faults
1
Address the underlying issue first — some faults won't clear while the problem is still present.
2
Click Clear to erase codes.
3
If an engine or transmission code won't clear, the tool walks you through a guided key-cycle (turn off, wait, turn on) and re-checks automatically.
4
The summary lists only what did not clear, so you know exactly what still needs attention.
Saving a PDF report
1
Choose Save PDF report.
2
The report opens with a decoded-VIN summary, the color-coded faults per module, and a legend.
3
Great for sharing with a customer or keeping a service record.
