Read & back up first
1
Open the module's Vehicle Coding tab.
2
Click Read to load the current coding.
3
Click Save to keep a backup before changing anything — always do this.
Making a change
1
Adjust the labeled settings.
2
Review the warning screen — it explains the risk and asks you to confirm.
3
Write the change, then verify the vehicle behaves as expected.
Coding can disable features or, if done wrong, leave a module in a bad state.
Only change values you understand, keep your saved backup, and follow a known-good procedure. If a value is engine- or VIN-specific, copying coding from another vehicle (a "donor") can cause conflicts — the tool warns you when it detects this.
Advanced area
Coding screens may be password-gated and intended for trained users. Some writes require security access that may not be available.
