Installation Steps

1

Use a T30 Torx bit to remove the two screws securing the Control Arm Skid Plates to the vehicle. If your hardware was sheared off, skip to Step 3.

2

Locate the two factory threaded inserts at the bottom of the factory control arm bracket.

3

Use a ¼” pin punch to remove the two factory threaded inserts. Position the punch in the middle of the factory threaded insert and with a couple firm taps of a hammer completely remove each insert.

4

Position your Skid Plate face up on a block of wood large enough so that the Skid Plate is flat and level. Use a 90-degree countersink to drill out the two mounting holes.

5

Carefully check each hole with the head of one of the new M8 screws. You want the new countersunk holes to be just deep enough that the head of the screw is flush with the face of the skid plate.

6

Install the flag nut into the inside cavity of the control arm bracket. Note: the flag nuts are side specific. The flag nut will sit flat in the back side of the lower control arm mount with the tang pointing straight back.

7

Use a T-45 Torx bit and the two supplied M8 flat head screws to reinstall the control arm skid plate. Hold the flag nut in position with one hand and with the other install the skid plate using the two supplied screws. Adjust the skid plate as needed and then fully tighten both screws. Torque to 20 ft/lbs. Wiggle to nut plate tab back and forth a few times to break it off the nut plate. Repeat steps 1-7 on the opposite side.
