The Early Years: A Passion Fueled by Experience

Eric and Paul started with experience, a love for exploration, and the desire to build something unique. Eric, with his roots in the outdoor and action sports industries, and Paul, a seasoned sailboat captain with years of knowledge in the marine environment, decided to combine their skill sets and create something that would allow others to experience the same kind of adventures and feelings they had.
Their journey started back in 2001 when Eric commissioned his first adventure van to help him explore the rugged terrain of the western U.S. Meanwhile, Paul was navigating the ocean, gaining knowledge into the kind of performance and reliability that would later translate into TOURIG’s commitment to building top-tier rigs. In 2015, after years of friendship and shared experiences, Eric and Paul decided to take their knowledge and passion to the next level. They launched TOURIG with the goal of creating custom vans that could handle anything.

From a Single Bay Workshop to Industry Leadership

The early days of TOURIG were experimental, to say the least. With an industry that was still in its very early stages, there was little to go off of except their own trial-and-error approach. The two started in a single bay workshop in Nederland, CO, crafting “one-off” adventure vans. Every van was a unique design, built from the ground up to meet the specific needs of each individual customer.
Fast forward to today, and TOURIG has grown to a state-of-the-art facility in Golden, CO, becoming a leader in the adventure van space. Over the years, their understanding of what adventure-seekers need in a custom van has evolved and so have their offerings. What began as a small venture now includes full-scale van conversions, performance upgrades, service, and maintenance. TOURIG’s services spans everything from high-performance rigs that have driven to the top of Alaska to those that have made the trek all the way down to the southern tip of South America.

How Agile Offroad Became Part of the Story

Our relationship with TOURIG began when they reached out to us after we introduced our performance suspension systems for the Sprinter vans. At Agile Offroad, we’ve always been about making off-road vehicles more capable, more reliable, and more enjoyable to drive. When TOURIG decided to integrate our products into their builds, it was a perfect match.
Our RIP (Ride Improvement Package) upgrades have become a go-to choice for TOURIG’s custom builds.
