Understand Your Grenadier’s Electrical Configuration Before You Buy
Your Agile Offroad Auxiliary Battery System for the INEOS Grenadier is engineered for seamless integration but not every Grenadier left the factory with the same electrical layout. That’s why understanding your vehicle’s configuration is essential before installation.
Some models were delivered with a factory auxiliary battery, others with a fuse block, high load auxiliary switches, NATO plug, or OE inverter. The installation of the Agile Offroad system replaces the OE auxiliary battery or amp and speaker system where equipped. Depending on your build, you may need specific add-ons to preserve full factory functionality.
Getting this right means protecting your investment, retaining OE features, and ensuring your auxiliary power system performs flawlessly on every overland adventure.
1. Grenadier Without Factory Fuse Block
How To Determine:
Look under the rear seat on the passenger side. If your vehicle has a second battery from the factory, it should also have a factory fuse block in this location.
If you Grenadier does not have a fuse block you will need:
Why:
The Auxiliary Battery System requires additional high-amperage connection points. If your Grenadier did not come equipped with the OE fuse block, this fuse holder is required to properly integrate the system.
2. Grenadier Equipped with High Load Auxiliary Switches
How to determine
Look at your overhead switch panel. If you have two rows of switches, your vehicle is equipped with factory high load auxiliary switches. If you have one row only, you do not have the high load auxiliary switch package
If your Grenadier is equipped with the high load auxiliary switches you will need:
Why
The Auxiliary Battery System utilizes all available positions on the factory fuse block. This add-on power wire ensures your high load auxiliary switches retain full functionality after the battery system is installed.
3. Grenadier Equipped with NATO Plug
How to determine:
Look next to the rear hitch receiver. Most vehicles will have a plastic cover panel in this area. Remove the plastic cover to check for the presence of the NATO plug behind it.
If your Grenadier is equipped with the Nato plug you will need:
The NATO plug requires dedicated high-current protection. The Auxiliary Battery System utilizes all available positions on the factory fuse block. This fuse block ensures the NATO plug continues to function correctly after installation of the System.
4. Grenadier Equipped with OE Inverter (Not Upgrading to Victron)
How to determine:
Look at the driver-side rear trunk panel. If the panel has a raised “step-up” section, your vehicle is equipped with the factory OE inverter. f the panel is flat with no step-up, your vehicle does not have the OE inverter.
If your Grenadier is equipped with a factory inverter and don't intent to upgrade to the Agile Victron Inverter system, you will need: :
Important: This is only required if you plan to keep your factory OE inverter. If you are upgrading to the Agile Victron inverter system, this add-on is not needed.
Why:
The Auxiliary Battery System utilizes all available positions on the factory fuse block. This add-on preserves proper power delivery to the factory inverter so you retain full OE functionality.
