Susan Pieper, Driver
Susan Pieper is a 4-time Rebelle Rally competitor and driver placing top 10 in 2021 in the 4×4 category. Susan is not new to endurance competition. Earlier in her life, she crewed on sailing yachts logging 10,000 ocean miles including the TransPacific Yacht Race, a 2200 mile openocean race, winning a Navigator’s Award for her division.
Susan’s custom-built Mercedes Sprinter Van equipped with Warner’s Evictus Suspension is her “land yacht” and she uses it to access trails for mountain biking and mountaineering. In the winter, she travels extensively to ski resorts to snowboard and to follow the Freeride World Tour qualifying events in which her son competes as a pro snowboarder.
Susan has oriented her career around business strategy as both an entrepreneur and also as a corporate C-suite executive and management consultant. She is well known in the overlanding/offroad automotive market as the Founder and CEO of DMOS Pro Shovel Tools which she started in 2015. Susan earned her MBA from Harvard Business School and a BA from The Ohio State University. She is passionate about leadership, sustainable design and service work helping people take risks to make their lives extraordinary.
Elise Young, Co Diver/Navigator
Elise Young is a 3-time competitor and navigator for the Rebelle Rally, securing a top 10 position in the 4×4 category in 2020. Elise has oriented her career around maps: she works as a Senior Data Analyst for onX, a digital mapping company. Her educational background includes a B.Sc. in Animal & Range Science from Montana State University and graduate coursework in Geographic Information Sciences. She is passionate about habitat conservation and access to the outdoors, and volunteers her time to pass on essential navigation skills to other outdoor enthusiasts.
